Where it all began

A seasoned bassist and music producer with over five decades of experience, Jerome Rimson has made a significant mark on the music industry.

Hailing from Detroit, he’s renowned for his work with legendary artists like Van Morrison, Al Jarreau, Real Thing, Detroit Emeralds, Steve Winwood, Phil Lynott and Freddie Mercury, both in the studio and on stage.

Rimson’s musical journey also includes collaborations with Phil Lynott, serving as the bassist on his albums Solo in Soho and The Phil Lynott Album. His recent involvement in the film Songs For While I’m Away alongside the likes of Adam Clayton and James Hetfield further solidified his connection to Phil Lynott legacy.

Beyond his iconic collaborations, Rimson has been actively involved in producing and performing. He has produced singles for The Detroit Emeralds and is currently working on a new album and documentary about the band.

Additionally, he has supported emerging Irish talent, including Mary O’Neill Norberg.

Inspired by his experiences performing in Montreux with renowned artists, Rimson penned the song “Ode to Montreux.” due to be released on the MCM label.

His dedication to the music scene is evident in his annual performances at the Cork Jazz Festival and his headlining appearances at the Clonakilty Guitar Festival with Strange Angels.

Recently, Rimson contributed to the release of the Eddie Howell vinyl box set, and the title track “Man From Manhattan” in particular. The track features Freddie Mercury on vocals and piano, Brian May on guitar, and Rimson himself on bass.
